Borowski Wacław

Borowski Wacław (ur. 1885 Łódź, zm. 1954).
Painter, chart, pedagogue, presidents a member of the group Rytm, Society of Polish Artists Art, Association of Graphic Artists Ryt and TZSP.
In1905 he began studies at the Jagiellonian University (history of art) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the supervision of J. Mehoffera. After graduating with honors from the Academy, he left in 1909 to Paris, where he stayed until 1913. During this period, he also visited Italy. He exhibited systematically with groups, to which he belonged, he also took part in exhibitions organized by TOSSPO. He practiced easel painting, one – and multi-colored lithography, he also dealt with book illustration and set design, he designed posters, he also made decorative wall compositions (m.in. polychrome of the Kościelski chapel in Miłosław, frescoes in the Thursday dinner hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, polychromes in the Old Town Square ibid, decorations of the Art pavilion at PWK in Poznań). Borowski's art shows a tendency towards synthesis and cubizing geometrization of forms, as well as for statics, softness, build, plastic modeling and compositional harmony. The colors of his works are kept in a muted and slightly whitened color scale.
Borowski was also involved in pedagogical work – w l. 1927-33 he was a professor of painting and composition at the Institute of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
