Dadlez Paweł

Painter, chart, pedagogue. He studied art with W.. Jarocki and J. Wojnarski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the l. 1922-27 and at the Paris branch of that university under the direction of J.. Pankiewicz in l. 1928-29. Then he stayed in Italy, a w 1931 he returned to Krakow and began working as an assistant at the department of evening drawing at his alma mater. W 1938 he became professor of general drawing and drawing for sculptors. He took part in the September campaign 1939 and was captured by the Germans. He died in May 1940 on the train taking him from a POW camp to the country. The dominant feature of Dadlez's work is academic realism, reminiscent of the Dutch, and sometimes Chardin. The composition is kept in this style Breakfast, especially the picture In the kitchen, working with purely artistic elements and harmonious interplay of all factors, calm. The artist also painted still lifes composed of unsophisticated motifs, common things for everyday use. In the last period of his work, Dadlez began to use the experiences of contemporary colourism. More than once, he transferred the motifs of his earlier works into a new range of colors. Premature death did not allow him to develop and clearly define the color possibilities.
