Grottger Arthur

Grottger Arthur (ur. 1837 Ottyniowice (Eastern Galicia), zm. 1867 Amélie-les-Bains).
W 1849-52 he was educated in Lviv with J.. Maszkowski and J. Kossak, w 1852-54 studied at the SSP in Krakow with W.. K. Stattler and W.. Łuszczkiewicz, w 1855-59 at the Academy in Vienna, incl. u J. P. Greigera. W 1858 spent several months in Munich. In Lviv, he was again in 1865. Due to a lung disease, he moved to France. He painted oil paintings (portraits, historical compositions and compositions inspired by contemporary events and literature), above all, however, he was a cartoonist (famous cycles Warsaw, Poland, Lithuania, War).
