Hannytkiewicz, Adam (ur. 1887 Cracow, zm. 1946 Wrocław).
Painter, pedagogue, member of the Plastyka group. He studied art at the age of. 1906-10 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under the direction of L. Wyczółkowski, S. Dębicki and J. Pankiewicz. W 1915 he was in Vienna, w l. 1924 i 1932-33 he was in Paris, where he exhibited at Salons (d Autumn i Tuileries) and in private galleries. From 1909 he was involved in pedagogical work, teaching in secondary schools in Krakow, Wieliczka, Inowrocław and Poznań, to which he eventually moved in 1919. Here, w 1926 founded his own school of fine arts, which he led to 1934. He was a founding member of Grupa Wielkopolskie Plastyków Plastyka. After World War II (during which almost all of his artistic achievements were lost in Poznań) organized an art school in Sędziszów, and then appointed professor at WSSP in Wrocław, he took an active part in organizing this university. He painted portraits, landscapes, historical images, and most of all still lifes often composed of books and flowers. He eagerly used the perspective with an elevated horizon in them. Strongly simplified, His carefully composed works were characterized by a luminous color and a soft painterly texture. In his work, the artist was looking for color harmonies independent of temporary lighting, he combined the achievements of impressionism with an understanding of the principles of modern composition.
