Kokoszko Edward

Kokoszko Edward (ur. 1900 Izdebno, zm. 1962 Warsaw).
Painter, pedagogue, member of the Society of St.. Luke, Of Governance and Block Inc. Art. Artists. In years 1917-20 studied at the Warsaw School of Drawing with M.. Kotarbiński and J. Kausika, 1921-22 in the private school of K. Krzyżanowski, and then to 1926 at the SSP in the studio of T. Pruszkowski. During this period, he also worked on graphics for W.. Skoczylas, stained glass at M.. Kotarbiński, and the technology of painting by T.. Noskowski. He then spent three years in France. He made his debut in 1928 at the 1st exhibition of the Brotherhood of St.. Łukasza, taking an active part in the artistic life and numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad since then. From 1929 started teaching at the SSP in Warsaw (and then ASP) and later at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting. In years 1935-38 was associated with the monthly “Plasticity”, publishing numerous articles in it and serving as a member of the editorial board and for some time also the editor-in-chief. He mainly practiced portrait and landscape painting. He also designed stained glass and wall polychromes for church interiors. His works are simple and unpretentious, high sensitivity to color and special workshop reliability. His painting method is characteristic of supporting each color, warm, cold, and each cold, warm, as well as the diversity of the structure of the paintings., once with a fine grain texture, sometimes with wide brush marks or graphic elements.
