Zenon Kononowicz (ur. 1903 Honczary, zm. 1971 Kazimierz Dolny).
Painter, chart, pedagogue, member of the Association. Art. Pol. Piece, Prism and Keystone groups. He studied art in Ryazan in the years 1918-23, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the supervision of F. Kowarski and J. Pankiewicz in the years 1923-29 and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the years 1929-33. He took part in Pryzmat and Zwornik exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and after the Second World War, in all major national and Lublin district exhibitions. He also had many individual shows. He was an assistant to F.. Kowarski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, he lectured at the School of Drawing and Painting in Lublin and at the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów. He mainly painted landscapes and still lifes with flowers. The sharply applied color plays a dominant role in his paintings, with temperament in the form of a variety of streaks, often spread with a putty knife. Dense painting matter often dominates the subject side of the composition, most often played in cinnabar, roses, blues and a whole range of greens.
