Władysław of Krzyżanowski (ur. 1889 Lviv, zm. ok. 1973 Edinburgh (Scotland)).
Painter, member of the Unicorn Guild of Artists, Association of Ten Artists and Designers, Awangarda and Nowa Generacja groups and ZZAP. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the supervision of J.. Pankiewicz, and then in Paris. After returning to Poland, in 1925 he became very actively involved in the artistic life, especially Lviv and Krakow, participated annually in many exhibitions. He was a faithful and permanent member of the Unicorn, whose motto was: “From work to work to work”, and the idea was to treat art as a craft, practicing pure painting, inclining in general assumptions towards French post-impressionist art. Still lifes, Krzyżanowski's landscapes and figural studies testify to the reference to Cezanne's style in the sense of space and the balance of plans and synthetic forms. However, color plays an important role in his painting, treated with a temperament that manifests itself in a tendency to warm color groups, strong contrasts so colorful, as well as valuable and varied rough texture, obtained with a putty.
