Bielska-Tworkowska Leokadia

Bielska-Tworkowska, Leokadia (ur. 1901 Chrzanów, zm. 1973 Warsaw)
Painter, graphic designer, journalist. She studied at the Industrial School in Lviv with K.. Sichulski in l. 1921-23 and in the Warsaw SSP at M.. Kotarbiński and T. Pruszkowski in the l. 1924-29. Initially associated with the Warsaw School, from 1932 she has exhibited independently in Poland and abroad. According to her own criteria, the image exists on laws specially created for it, and the most important thing is the individual logic of the canvas. The artist composed her works on the basis of the musical harmony of elements, paying great attention to the value relations. Portraits played a special role in her naturally intimate painting, especially feminine. However, the purpose of these images was, above all, to leave a plastic trace of human existence, they were often clearly characterized, sometimes even with a certain grotesque flair. Bielska was also a talented etcher (w 1943 issued a portfolio containing 18 boards with views of Krzemieniec) and a reviewer of art exhibitions (wrote i. w “Tygodnik Ilustrowany”).
