After some time, he decided to settle in the United States permanently. From 1927 he exhibited a lot both individually, and with the Brotherhood. His painting was characterized by a distinct and extraordinary vision. From stylized and archaized images of Łowicz peasants, shown linearly on the model of Holbein and Clouet through images with naked black women, cacti and streets of Tripoli, he came to modeling in superimposed on the canvas “plaster” the supernatural size of female heads, peculiarly deformed, as if seen in a crooked mirror. The artist was also interested in painting technology, experimented with the texture of the image by introducing surface polishing, sub-sculpting, gilding, and also using the kind already mentioned “plaster” or by incorporating fragments of fabrics. He was also involved in decorative painting and sculpture, and after leaving for the United States, mainly in ceramics, running the Cordey China Inc. factory. and a small experimental studio Cybis Porcelain Art.
