Stanisław Dębicki

Dębicki, Stanisław (ur. 1866 Lubaczów, zm. 1924 Cracow).
He studied in Vienna with Ch. Griepenkerla (1881-82), in the SSP in Krakow at W.. Łuszczkiewicz (1883-84). He was in Vienna again, and from 1884 studied at the Academy of Munich with A.. Wagner and in the private school of P.. mine. From approx. 1886 he taught at the School of Ceramics Industry in Kołomyja. He traveled to the Hutsul region. W 1890-91 studied in Paris at the Academie Colarossi with P.. Dagnan-Bouvereta and E.S. Fremieta, after his return, he settled in Lviv. W 1909 moved to Krakow, where he became a professor of decorative painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. He painted portraits, genre compositions from the life of Jews and Hutsuls, as well as landscapes. He also dealt with monumental painting and illustration. He was a member of the Society “Piece”.
