Not widely known, representative Portret Edwarda Franchetti – high image, museum class – painted by Olga Boznańska in the first years of her stay in Paris. It was a period of great success for her art in the circles of French connoisseurs – artists, writers, members of the government. During this period, Boznańska exhibited a lot, and her works were eagerly bought, also for French museum collections. In the pictures she painted at that time, she was gradually moving away from her favorite Munich grays, enriching the palette with a multitude of vivid colors, yes, that the planes of the paintings were sparkling with vibrant reflections of color. Characteristic “unreal” these portraits, combined with the subtle characteristics of the models, favored the artist's efforts to deepen the psychological expression of the presented people.
