Tchaikovsky, Stanisław (ur. 1878 Warsaw, zm. 1954 Sandomierz)
He studied with W. Gerson, and then in Krakow at the Academy of Fine Arts (1896-1903) at J. Malczewski, J.Mehoffera, L.Wyczółkowski. In Munich, he studied with L. Herterich for a year, and then in Paris at the Academie Julian, and again in Kraków with J.Stanisławski. He traveled around Italy. From 1907 he lived in the country until the war and went on hiking tours as a painter. W 1914-18 was in the Netherlands. After his return, he became a member of the Society “Piece”. He still wandered a lot painting landscapes. From 1950 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Most of all, he painted landscapes, as well as genre paintings.
